Frequently asked questions

Is Indexlume a hosted search service?

No. Version 0.1.0 is a self-hosted control plane and data pipeline. You operate the application services and Typesense.

Does Indexlume replace Typesense?

No. It configures and operates search workflows around bundled or external Typesense. Typesense retains its independent GPL-3.0 license.

Does PostgreSQL ingestion use CDC?

No. The current implementation uses snapshots and incremental polling with deterministic cursors/checkpoints. Hard deletes need a soft-delete field or deliberate reconciliation.

Can I join multiple tables?

Yes, through versioned relational projections using catalog-backed relationships, explicit root identity, bounded joins/aggregations, validation, and preview. It is not an arbitrary SQL editor.

Are raw search queries stored?

No. Analytics intentionally store aggregate counters and latency histograms, not raw query terms or top-query reports.

Can I deploy multiple API or worker replicas?

The documented 0.1.0 production target is one Compose host. Multi-node scaling requires deployment-specific design and validation.
