Collections and mappings

A collection record defines a stable project slug and an explicit field mapping. Each field can be searchable, filterable, sortable, or faceted according to its stored configuration.

  1. Open Collections for the selected project.
  2. Choose Create collection.
  3. Enter a name and stable slug.
  4. Add field names and Typesense-compatible field types.
  5. Enable only the capabilities needed by clients.
  6. Save the collection.

Search Studio and the public search proxy validate requests against this mapping. Unknown fields and arbitrary Typesense parameters are rejected.

Rebuild operations can create generation-specific Typesense collections and promote them behind the stable alias. Deleting a collection is destructive and requires the exact confirmation value supplied by the UI/API.
